With a view to strengthening its role as a national level deliberative and research institution in international law, the ISIL has entered into synergistic relationships with international, governmental and non-governmental organisations, such as the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and other UN bodies. It also collaborates with various Ministries of the Government of India. To promote an interdisciplinary approach to the changing nature of international economic and trade law, it interacts with bodies, such as Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), Confederation of Indian Industries (CII), and Associated Chamber of Commerce (ASSOCHAM).

Through the Career Enhancement Partnership, ISIL provides law schools with materials for distribution to students that describe its career development and educational resources. In addition, ISIL can identify and recruit international law experts at law school to discuss the issues of contemporary international law and also to speak about career development programs. Recently ISIL have signed MOU with Gujarat National Law University and the National Law University, Jodhpur with a view to disseminate the knowledge of international law.

Also ISIL provides its student members with the materials and resources they require to better understand and enter the field of international law. Keeping this in mind, ISIL regularly organising Summer Course on International Law in the month of June.
 
ISIL COLLABORATIONS WITH INTERNATIONAL SOCIETIES AND INSTITUTIONS
A. Italian Society of International Law
ISIL signed a MOU with Italian Society of International Law to exchange scholars, information and organize joint programmes on international law. As a part of memorandum, Italian Society of International Law invited an Indian Delegation to participate in the 9th Congress of Italian Society of International Law, at Rome, from 16-20 June 2004. The Delegation comprised Shri C. Jayaraj, Secretary General and Prof. Laksmi Jambholkar, member, Executive Council visited Rome and also observed the proceedings of the general meeting of the host society. The Delegation at the instruction of ISIL also invited a two members delegation of the Italian Society of International Law to participate in the 2nd International Conference being organized by the Indian Society of International Law. The Italian Society of International Law was represented by Prof. Sergio Marchisio, Secretary General. He proposed that the Italian Society of International Law could facilitate short-term mobility arrangements for younger scholars of India to be nominated by ISIL.

B. The TMC Asser Institute, The Hague
The ISIL and the TMC Asser Institute signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for mutual cooperation. The TMC Asser Institute was represented by Dr. Olivier M. Ribbelink, Director (Research) and the Society was represented by Shri Ram Niwas Mirdha who signed the MOU on behalf of ISIL.

C. French Society of International Law
The Prof. Jean-Marc Thouvenin, the Secretary General, French Society of International Law discussed the possible collaboration between two organizations. The discussion are well progressing.

D. American Society of International Law
Mr. James Carter, President, ASIL during the 2nd International Conference briefly narrated the historic evolution and the objectives of the centennial celebrations of ASIL, which is to be held in 2006. The ASIL presented a certificate of thanks to ISIL appreciating the latter's invitation and warm hospitality during the conference. Steps are taken to have a MOU in place.

E .International Progress Organization, Vienna
The ISIL is in touch with Prof. Hans Koechler, President, International Progress Organization, Vienna in order to develop further cooperation with ISIL.


ISIL COLLABORATIONS WITH NATIONAL LAW INSTITUTIONS AND SCHOOLS


The ISIL also signed MoU with National Law University, Jodhpur and Gujarat National Law University for mutual cooperation.

This will help the society to organise a variety of intellectual and academic programmes in the field of international law in and out side the country.

Outreach Programme
The ISIL jointly organises regional conferences and seminars on contemporary issues on international law out side Delhi with other institutions and law colleges. More and more institutions are enthusiastic in joining ISIL to co-sponsoring programmes. It will help the Society to disseminate the knowledge of international law and international institutions amongst the law students and law faculties.

As part of the regional conferences and seminars out side Delhi, the ISIL and Army Institute of Law (AIL) jointly organised a two-day workshop on Emerging Role of International Law at AIL, Mohali, Punjab from 8-9 January 2005. More than 150 delegates from various parts of northern Indian participated in the conference.

The ISIL -GH Raisoni Law School, Nagpur jointly conducted a conference on international law from 26-27 February 2005 at Nagpur. More than 200 delegates including judges, lawyers, law teachers, law students and researchers participated in the Seminar.
