PRAVIN. H. PAREKH Shri P. H. Parekh is Senior Advocate of the Supreme Court of India. He has been designated "Senior Advocate" by the Supreme Court of India in 2007. He founded and headed 'P.H. Parekh & Co.', one of the premier law firms in India, with one of the largest filing in the Supreme Court for the last three decades. He has edited and authored a number of books, articles and spoken extensively at various national and international seminars in different parts of the world. He did LL.B. from Government Law College, Bombay. He was President of the Supreme Court Bar Association (six terms 2004-2005, 2005-2006, 2007-2008, 2008-2009, 2011-2012 & 2013-2014).

NILENDRA KUMAR
Major General Nilendra Kumar, AVSM, VSM
As Judge-Advocate General of Indian Army from 2001-08, his charter included the advice, application, and dissemination of International Humanitarian Law. He was the Director of Amity Law School, Noida from 2009-16. He is now National President of Bharat-Tibet Sangh and a Director of the International Society of Military Law and Law of War. He represented India at meetings of experts on Direct Participation of Civilians in Hostilities (2003 and 2004) and the MILOPS conference meets organized by US Pacific Command for three years on Human Rights and Law of War. He has presented papers at Geneva, Bangkok, New Port (RI), Victoria (Canada), Seoul, and lectured at the universities of Oxford, South Carolina, USMA (West Point), Dhaka and FEFU, Vladivostok. He was part of Indian delegation to the UN sessions on steps to eradicate the illicit trade in small arms and light weapons, New York (Jan - Feb 2005) and on Explosive Remnants of War at Geneva. Spoke on "Legal Implications of UN Peace Keeping Operations" on 30 Jul 2002 at a seminar organized by the USI together with Ministry of External Affairs /UNP at New Delhi (Jul 2002) and at the 3rd Criminal Law Conference held on 'criminal justice in the 21st century and beyond' organized in Singapore in Jul 2016. He chaired a session on Non-Traditional Security Issues at the International Conference on "India and Indian Ocean" at Bhubaneswar, Odisha (Mar 2015). Has contributed a chapter in The Handbook of International Humanitarian Law edited by Dieter Fleck by Oxford University Press, Third & Fourth editions. Was the peer reviewer for the ICRC, Geneva for the revised commentary of Third Geneva Convention relating to Prisoners of War and now for the updated ICRC guide to 'Legal Review on New Weapons, Means and Methods of Warfare'. Has authored 'Law of Armed Conflict: Application and Practice' (Thomson Reuters, 2021).

AMBASSADOR NARINDER SINGH
Ambassador Narinder Singh has been granted the 2017 M.C. Bassiouni Justice Award dedicated to an "outstanding South Asian who has
contributed to the rule of international law generally or the field of international criminal law and justice specifically", in recognition
of (a) a lifetime of exemplary service in shaping India's interaction with international law and in the process of bringing one fifth of
humankind closer to the rule of international law; (b) his outstanding contributions and leadership in the United Nations International Law
Commission and its activities towards progressive development and codification of international law; (c) his sincere mentorship of young
Indian lawyers in the field of international law; (d) his contributions to the comprehensive 'Historical Origins of International Criminal
Law Project' and support to the initiatives of CILRAP in India and globally; and (e) his rare qualities of humility and mindfulness which
imbue his interactions with actors of different backgrounds and standing with effect and dependability.
A career international lawyer, Ambassador Singh has over the last four decades shaped India's interaction with international law.
As the Legal Adviser to the Indian Ministry of External Affairs and Head of its Legal and Treaties Division, he has represented India
in several United Nations bodies, negotiations of numerous treaties, and important arbitral proceedings. He has held key positions in
diplomatic conferences and been a member of the International Law Commission for a decade, serving as its Chairman in the Sixty-seventh
Annual Session (2015). He participated prominently in its work on topics such as 'immunity of State officials from foreign criminal jurisdiction',
'protection of the environment in relation to armed conflicts', 'identification of customary international law', and 'crimes against humanity'.
He started his legal career as an academic at the Indian Society of International Law, an organisation he led three decades later as Secretary
General. He was instrumental in securing electronic distribution and archiving of the flagship journal of the Society,
the Indian Journal of International Law, ensuring a wider audience, especially amongst young lawyers. Many younger lawyers have
gained valuable exposure to international law through research assistantship with Ambassador Singh at sessions of the International
Law Commission and at the Indian Society of International Law.

SURINDER.K. VERMA
Professor Surinder Kaur Verma [S.K. Verma] retired as a Professor of law University of Delhi. She was the former Dean & Head, Law Faculty, Delhi University; Director, Indian Law Institute, New Delhi (1998-2004); Director, Indian Society of International law (2009-2012); President of the International Association for the Advancement of Teaching and Research in Intellectual Property (ATRIP, 2001-2003); worked as the Team Leader & Consultant, European Union- India Trade & Investment Development Program (TIDP) - IPR Component (2006-2007).
Prof Verma studied law at the Banaras Hindu University (LL.B. and LL.M.); Law School, Berkeley, University of California (LL.M.); and the Law School, Harvard University, Cambridge, Mass. (S.J.D.). She was a Visiting Fellow/Professor at the Max-Planck-Institute in Intellectual Property, Munich, Germany, and the University of Washington, Seattle.
She specializes in international trade law and intellectual property rights; has nine books and over 150 published articles in international and national journals to her credit. |

Prof. (Dr.) Manoj Kumar Sinha, is Director, Indian Law Institute, New Delhi. He did his Doctorate in International Law from Jawaharlal Nehru University, LL.M. from the University of Nottingham and LL.B from University of Delhi. In 1998 he attended the 29th session of the International Institute of Human Rights in Strasbourg, France. His areas of specializations are Human Rights, Constitutional Law, International Humanitarian and Refugee Law, International Criminal Law, International Law and International Institutions. He has published extensively in the field of international law, international relations, constitutional law, international human rights, humanitarian and refugee laws, in reputed National and International Law journals. He is serving as the member of editorial boards of various reputed national and international journals. He was offered prestigious visiting Professorship at the Raoul Wallenberg Institute of Human Rights and Humanitarian Law, Lund, Sweden, (2004-2005). Prior to joining the Indian Law Institute, he was teaching at the West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences as Professor of Law (currently on leave). He also served the Indian Society of International Law as its Director (2006-2009). In year 2007, he has been elected as Secretary of All India Law Teachers Congress (AILTC) and again re-elected in 2009, 2011& 2013 for another two years term. He has been regularly delivering lectures at various institutions outside of the university, namely, law colleges in India and abroad, UGC Academic Staff College, training programme of the ICRC, training programme of Ministry of External Affairs and Ministry of Environment and Forests, etc. |

M. GANDHI
Prof. M. Gandhi is currently Professor & Dean of VIT School of Law, VIT Chennai . He has also served as Professor and Executive Director, Centre for International Legal Studies in O P Jindal Global University, Sonepat, NCR Delhi after a long stint in the Ministry of External Affairs where he retired as a Joint Secretary (L&T) and Legal Adviser.
He is an accomplished teacher of International Law. He has been a practitioner of International Law and member of the legal team in the Aerial Incident Case (1999) (Pakistan v. India ) decided by the ICJ. He has also served as Legal adviser, Permanent Mission of India, New York representing India in the VI (Legal) Committee of the UNGA. He has participated in a number of International Conferences and Working Groups on International Law representing Government of India.
Professor M Gandhi has a Master Degree in Political Science from Madurai Kamaraj University and B.L, M.L and Ph.D degrees from the University of Madras. He has been trained in Legal Advice and Legislative Drafting by the Institute of Advanced Legal Studies, University of London under Colombo Plan. He was also a UNITAR visiting scholar to Columbia University, New York. He has contributed research articles and Book Chapters in International Law in Books and Journal s published in India and abroad.

Dr. G.Venkatesh Rao, is a designated Senior Advocate, by the Supreme Court of India specializing in various branches of domestic and International Law, Constitutional, Corporate, Tax and Civil & Criminal matters. He started his career at the Attorney General for India's Office in 1986, and thereafter he continued as a Govt. Counsel for about 20 yrs. and has been practicing in all courts of India as an Independent Counsel for about 31 yrs. He has been a Counsel in several high-profile matters, for Govt. of India, and both for domestic and International Corporate entities/organizations; In that capacity, he has appeared in thousands of Cases, e.g like Bhopal Gas Tragedy, assassination of P.M Indira Gandhi, Harshad Mehta etc. He was also Counsel in former PM Sh.P.V.Narasimha Rao's pvt matters, appeared in the L&T take over matter, the Reliance debenture issue case etc. He has had world-wide clientele in about 15 Countries. He has published his articles in Asian Journal of International Law, Kansas Journal of Law and Public Policy, ABA's The Federal Lawyer, Delhi Law Review etc. His books titled 'Shifting Horizons of Public International Law: A South Asian Perspective', and 'International Criminal Law: Theory and Practice' are reviewed well. He is a recipient of Commonwealth Fellowship( U.K.), Raman Fellowship (USA), UGC-TEC Fellowship (Mauritius).He has been an alumnus of Patna University, Campus Law Centre, Delhi University and Faculty of Law, Delhi University. Dr. Luther Rangreji is currently Joint Secretary, Legal & Treaties Division, Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India. He was Associate Professor, Faculty of Legal Studies, South Asian University (2011-2015). Also served as Legal Officer in the Asian African Legal Consultative Organization (AALCO), New Delhi. Most recently, (2018-2020), Dr. Rangreji was posted as Counsellor (Legal), Embassy of India, The Hague, where he was a member of the Indian delegation to the Kulbhushan Jadhav Case (ICJ) and Deputy agent, Encrica Lexie Arbitration (also Italian Marine Case).
Dr. Rangreji has an LL.M from University of Pune and M. Phil and Ph.D degrees from the Centre for International Legal Studies, School of International Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi.
He has presented papers at numerous national and international conferences and also published articles in international law journals.

PROF. (DR.) C. JAYARAJ
Mr. C. Jayaraj possesses 30 years of standing at the Bar in three commonwealth jurisdictions with expertisein International Law. He holds a Degree of Master of Laws in Constitutional Law and International Law from the University of Madras and a Master of Philosophy in International Law from Jawaharlal Nehru University.
Practiced law before Madras and Delhi High Courts and Supreme Court of India. He has served as Barrister and Solicitor in the Republic of Nauru (1990-1994) and as Principal State Counsel in the Attorney General's Chamber, Republic of Seychelles (2010-2020) He was Legal Adviser to the Seychelles delegation to European Union to negotiate the Sustainable Fisheries Agreement.
Having started as a Senior Research Investigator at the Indian Society of International Law he moved on as Legal Officer in the Secretariat of the Asian African Legal Consultative Organisation and conducted research on international legal issues and produced several scientific papers.
He had also served first, as Director and then, as Secretary General of the Indian Society of International Law( 2003-2006).He organized global level conferences on international law and got a major research project on legal issues of Non- Resident Indians from the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India. Among other initiatives, founded the Summer Course in International Law program at ISIL.
He has co -edited books on Public International Law, Non-Resident Indians and Private International Law and International Criminal Law which were published under the auspices of ISIL. Presented scientific papers in international and national conferences on issues of international law, international space law etc.Published articles, book reviews in the Indian Journal of International Law and contributed Chapters to books on Private International law and International Space Law.
Functioned as Executive Editor and Managing Editor of Indian Journal of International Law( 2002-2006). Was Co- Editor -in -Chief of the ISIL Yearbook of International Humanitarian and Refugee law ( 2003-2006).
Currently, he is a Professor and Director of AaruPadaiVeedu Institute of Law, Tamil Nadu.

(DR.) BENARJI CHAKKA
Dr. Benarji Chakka is currently working as Dean and Professor of Law at VIT-AP School of Law (VSL), VIT-AP University, Andhra Pradesh. He graduated from Andhra University, with B.A.L, LL.B (Hons), LL.M from School of Oriental African Studies (SOAS) University of London and obtained M. Phil., and Ph. D., from Centre for International Legal Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, India. He also earned Postgraduate Diploma Course in Learning, Teaching and Research in Higher Education, National University of Ireland (NUI), Galway, Republic of Ireland and he was awarded with the prestigious British Chevening Scholar at SOAS in 2015-16.
Dr. Benarji was previously associated as Professor and Dean of Alliance School of Law, Alliance University Bangalore; Associate Professor of Law and Registrar at National Law University and Judicial Academy, Assam (NLUJAA). He was Lecturer at the School of Law, National University of Ireland, Galway (NUIG). He was Regional Legal Adviser to the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), based in Geneva and its Regional Delegation for South Asia, New Delhi. He also worked as Research Associate at the Indian Society of International Law (ISIL). He has expertise in International Aviation Law, International Space Law, International Humanitarian Law and International Law and Transitional Justice.
He published research articles and books in the field of International Aviation and Space law and international humanitarian law (IHL). He has been invited as an expert speaker to deliver lectures at various UGC Academic Staff colleges in India during UGC Refresher Course and Orientation Programmes. PROF. (DR.) RASHMI SALPEKAR
Prof. Dr. Rashmi Salpekar, Professor of International Law and Dean VSLLS. She is Ph.D. in International Law for which she received fellowship from Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR), New Delhi. She is LL.M., Master of Human Rights and Duties (MHRDE) and M.A. in Sociology. She has approximately fifteen years of experience of teaching and research including experience of working as a Research Officer in Maharashtra State Human Rights Commission, Mumbai. She is the Dean in Vivekananda School of Legal Studies (VSLLS), Vivekananda Institute of Professional Studies (VIPS) affiliate to Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University since 2016.
She has specialization in Public International Law, International Criminal Law, International Humanitarian Law, International Trade, Economic, Investment and Commercial Law and Legal Research Methodology due to teaching and researching since more than a decade. She has been invited as a speaker in national conferences, seminars and international conferences including International Conference organized by WSV and City University, Hong Kong, 2018, and, 15th International Symposium organized by Australian Institute of Victimology, Western Australia University along with World Society of Victimology (WSV) at Perth, Australia in July 2015, as also, 14th International Symposium of Victimology at The Hague, The Netherlands in May 2012 organized by International Institute of Victimology, Tilburg, and Leuvens Institute of Criminology, Victim Support of Europe.
She has carried out an Empirical Research on Rights of Farmers and Land Acquisition (2012-13) funded by ICSSR, New Delhi. She is the Editor of VIPS Student Law Review, an annual Journal published by VIPS and an Editorial Board Member of an annual Journal of Academy of Juridical Studies. She has published Books, many papers in various research journals, conference proceedings of national and international repute. She has edited a book International Humanitarian Law: A Reflection on 70 Years of Geneva Conventions 1949 (2019)and authored a book titled Parliament Session of 2019: A Descriptive Study of Bills Passed and Presented (2020). She has also published a unique edited book titled Moot Problems (2021) wherein moot problems on international law and national law are included with a objective to promote problem based teaching-learning process in the legal education. In addition to this, edited book on Law and Behaviour (2019) and Intellectual Property Law in the Information Age (2021) have also been published.
She has been invited to judge moot court competitions including Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Competition and Henry Dunant Moot Court Competition. She is guiding Ph.D. Students and also guiding LL.M. and LL.B. students in their dissertations. She is invited as a resource person across the country mainly to speak on international law and Legal Research Methodology. She is a Life Member and Executive Member of Indian Society of International Law, Executive Member of All India Law Teachers Congress and a Member of World Society of Victimology (Special Category consultative status with the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) of the United Nations and the Council of Europe). Shikhar Ranjan holds LLB from Lucknow University (1994); M.Phil in International Law from Jawaharlal Nehru University (1997), LLM from Delhi University (2009) and Ph.D. from JNU, New Delhi (2022). He has worked with the Indian Society of International Law (ISIL:2000-2002), Asian-African Legal Consultative Organization (AALCO:2002-2011) and erstwhile Medical Council of India (MCI:2011-2020). DR. ANWAR SADAT
Dr Anwar Sadat is a senior Assistant Professor at the ISIL. He is coordinator and principal resource person of Post Graduate Diploma course in International Environmental Law at the Society. He did his M.A. (1998), M.Phil. (2000), and Ph.D. (2005) from JNU, specializing in International Environmental Law. He did his LL.B from Delhi University (2009) and LL.M from Annamalai University (2012).
He has written extensively on climate change law and policy, which includes notably a book titled 'Trusts for the Earth', research articles in journals like Carbon & Climate Law Review, Indian Journal of International Law, Journal of Indian Law Institute and Economic and Political Weekly. He was awarded Sir Ratan Tata Post-doctoral Research Fellowship by the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), London (U.K.) to do his post-doctoral work at the LSE for eight months during 2016-17. Dr. PARINEET KAUR
Dr. Parineet Kaur is an Assistant Professor and Course Coordinator of Post Graduate Diploma in Intellectual Property Laws conducted by the Indian Academy of International Law and Diplomacy, a teaching wing of ISIL. Prior to this she has experience of working for an IP Law firm. She is a graduate in Economics from Sri Guru Gobind Singh College of Commerce, DU and has completed her LL.B. from Campus Law Centre, Faculty of Law, University of Delhi and LL.M from SGT University. She has a Ph.D. in the area of Copyright and Competition Law in Entertainment Industry from Dr. Ram Manohar Lohiya National Law University Lucknow . She is UGC NET qualified. She also represented India in the prestigious "BRICS Forum of International Rule of Law" in Beijing and has presented papers at various national and international conferences and has many publications to her credit.
